Karen Adamson

Guest Choreographer

Karen Adamson is the owner and principal dance instructor at Adamson Ballet School in Katy, Texas, where she choreographs extensively for annual performances and coaches students for dance team competitions. Her passion for dance began in childhood, leading her to dedicate herself fully to the art form and pursue a professional career in classical ballet. There, she met her husband, John Adamson, with whom she shares a deep commitment to their school, which they view as a divine calling and ministry. Karen particularly enjoys mentoring teenage girls—both through her church and in the studio—and considers it a profound blessing to guide her students as they develop as dancers and individuals. She continues to teach Ballet and Jazz classes with enthusiasm and care.

In addition to her work in dance education, Karen has an extensive background in theatre. She has performed in numerous productions with Kingwood Community Theatre, including roles in Peter Pan, The Music Man, Crimes of the Heart, and The Shadow Box, and choreographed their production of Camelot. She has also appeared in The Women with Kris Wilson’s Actor’s Theatre of Houston and served as assistant director for The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds.
